May 12 - Prescott to Sedona

Hiked this morning at Watson Lake Park which was near the campground in Prescott. Very cool granite islands protruding from the water. Good to tire Sunny out before traveling. Got on the road towards Sedona. We traveled scenic highway 89A which is a narrow, twisty mountain road with great views and length limitations.

Made it to a nice little campground right in town on the banks of a creek. Good walking area for Sunny.

Sedona red rocks are awesome, drove to the ‘uptown’ area where there are a lot of tourist stores. Walked around the Tlaquepaque shopping district, a re-creation of ancient city layouts with courtyards surrounded by business. Had dinner at Oak Creek Brewery there.

Returned to camp and walked along the Oak Creek with Sunny. There’s a Blue Heron nest in trees over campground. Loud big chicks screaming for food and disturbing the peace! Did some research hikes for tomorrow before turning in.
