May 10 - Scottsdale to Prescott

Today’s the day to get out of Scottsdale. I’ve been saying it every day for a week now but things kept coming up. With that goal in mind, I packed up early. Ian came over and we went to breakfast then dropped me of at Bubba’s where we picked up the rig and hit the road. Swung by Jen’s in north Scottsdale on our way and grabbed lunch at a deli, said our goodbyes and hit the road, for the second time today.

We made our way to the Point of Rocks Campground near Prescott. It’s at an elevation of 5200 feet. We arrived at the campground just after dark so got to experience backing in and setting up the trailer with no lights. (the picture is in the campground but taken in teh light of day.)

It’s noticeably darker here than it was in city. Also much quieter with a cool breeze in the trees. Needed to turn on the heater as well – another significant change from Scottsdale!
